📝 Day 8–12 Summary

This week was all about real encounters with various communities.

Day 8 — Moving with Radical Care

We danced with a community group led by an artist from Rosetta Life, which supports people living with life-limiting conditions. Through dance, they explore illness, memory, and personal stories — transforming them into shared experiences with audiences. It was deeply touching to witness how creativity can open space for empathy and dignity.

Day 9 — Collaboration with Micro Rainbow and Fearghus Ó Conchúir

We engaged with communities supporting LGBTQ+ asylum seekers. The session reminded me how movement and presence can create belonging even without words.

Day 10 — Working Inside and Outside

Workshop with Jo, Ruth, Mandeep, and Andrew Sanger, followed by a visit to The Place Theatre. We explored how context changes our movement — how space can shape emotion and interaction.

Day 11 — With Jo, Ruth, Mandeep, and Joseph Jeffers

The morning began with A Dance for Your Enjoyment, shared with shortbread and laughter. Later, we traveled to Croydon for a site-specific exploration at AKSI, closing the day with a warm dinner and meaningful talks.

Day 12 — Bridging Out with the Core Team

A day for Year 1 students, working closely with Jo, Ruth, and Mandeep, exploring how to “bridge out” — to connect learning with practice, and inside with outside.

During this week, I met people beyond language — through gesture, rhythm, and trust.

There was a moment when a casual chat flowed into spontaneous movement — no plan, no hesitation, just pure connection. It was truly beautiful.

I’m still struggling with English, but every day feels like receiving a small, precious gift from everyone around me.
